We can move “to the Clouds”

Nowadays you hear expressions, which are closer to Heaven than to Earth. Cloud computing or Cloud technologies are becoming increasingly common both in literature and in our environment. What are they?
You can use these services without having your own infrastructure, software, or even office applications or standard office software products. This is a different way to use software products and technical resources without purchasing them.
Enterprise Resource Planning System or Information System - the systems, which are necessary for you, are already available this way.
Cloud computing technology will enable you to use the necessary systems flexibly, without purchasing them, but by paying a subscription fee, as you pay for parking, cable TV or mobile phone. Our experience shows that sooner or later up to 70% of our software needs will move “to the clouds” and we will use them only as much as we need.
The main principles are very convenient and flexible - you order a service, receive it, and do not bother about the product version updates or infrastructure, on which the product works, or its maintenance - everything is included in the price, and you get the full service, which you need. This can be used by any person who is reading this article, the whole company or a part of the company. You do not need to bother about your computers operation, their sufficient capacity according to your needs, or you do not even need to bother about data security, because it is very high in this case, since your data is located in well protected Data Centers.
You do not need highly skilled professionals, who would maintain your servers and computers. You do not need premises, where those servers would be protected by security and climatic conditions support; even the power consumption is reduced.
At the same time, you have all the necessary infrastructure and software that you need. You can increase or decrease your demands at any time - they can grow together with your business.
There are the following types of Cloud computing services:
IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service. This is a service, when you outsource only the technical infrastructure and its maintenance, with your own programs used by your employees. Server capacity, disk arrays, and data storage devices – they all are at your service.
PaaS – Platform as a Service. This is a service, when you outsource not only the technical infrastructure, but also the system software, operating systems, database servers, object server, and even anti-virus programs, etc. - everything that serves your computer, and forces the functioning of all other application software.
SaaS – Software as a Service. This is a service where you outsource even applications, from Office programs to Customer Relationship Management System, Enterprise Resource Planning System and Information System.
All of these services can be provided:
- In the Public Cloud, where all your resources are located in the multi-server systems in conjunction with other clients’ resources and are allocated dynamically according to the needs.
- In the Private Cloud, where all your resources are assigned only to your organization.
- In the Hybrid Cloud, where all your resources are dissipated by attracting even your company's resources.
Every time, when you use the standard products such as Office applications, or use e-mail system as usual, no additional applications are needed – all you do is turn on your computer and work. However, if you use the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, you will need to prepare it, i.e., to complete the system implementation project. This will be the same as performing the implementation project of a standard system, only the system will not be in your servers and the system will not be yours. Typically, every month you can order larger resources as well as to reduce them. If you are going to skiing, you reduce heating at home, which is the same in this case; in case of vacation, you order less resources and pay less.
Main advantages:
- No need to buy expensive technical infrastructure, which is aging.
- No need to worry about server and data security because it is already ensured.
- You do not need expensive specialists to ensure maintenance.
- The new versions are always available, which are free of charge.
- You use as much, as you need.
- You pay as much as you use.
